Bayer Polymers LLC, Pittsburgh, and the PolyOne Corp., Cleveland, have formed a joint venture for the development, production and marketing of polyurethane systems in the United States and Canada. Each company will own 50 percent of the new joint venture, which will be known as BayOne Urethane Systems LLC. It will be headquartered in St. Louis.

Brookfield Engineering Laboratories, Middleboro, MA, has expanded its product offerings by acquiring the texture products division of CNS Farnell, formerly known as the Stevens line of Texture Analysers. Its products include the standardized Stevens LFRA Texture Analyser and the QTS-25 Texture Analyser.

Degussa Subsidiary Announces Name Change

PARSIPPANY, NJ – Degussa has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, formerly known as Aztec Peroxides LLC, has changed its name to Degussa Initiators LLC. Degussa Initiators is a component of the company’s Catalysts & Initiators business unit, and is located in Elyria, OH.

International Specialty Products (ISP), Wayne, NJ, and Polymer Chemistry Innovations, Tucson, AZ, have formed an alliance to manufacture, market and distribute Aquazol polymers for use in the digital printing and imaging, adhesives, and other markets.

National Adhesives, Bridgewater, NJ, has installed a Cavitec textile laminator to enable customers to reproduce conditions in its manufacturing plants and try various adhesives and application methods. The new 600-mm-wide unit provides performance data to help laminators select ideal adhesives and the best application methods.

ND Industries Inc., Clawson, MI, has recently added an Asian Processing Division in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, to support customer demands for processing of fastener coatings.

Northwest Coatings LLC, Oak Creek, WI, has been awarded US Patent number 6,472,056, covering UV/EB laminated labels for use on pharmaceutical and food-grade products. This patented technology is being used in a family of Northwest Coatings UV and EB laminating adhesive products including 15615LA.

Plasticolors Inc., Ashtabula, OH, has appointed Tri-iso Inc., Claremont, CA, distributor in the western U.S. Plasticolors is a supplier of pigment and chemical dispersions to the coatings, caulk, sealant, and plastics industries.

Sartomer Co., Exton, PA, has launched its redesigned website, http://www.sartomer.com, featuring a product selection guide, a comprehensive technical library, online support and sample ordering capabilities.

Techspray, Amarillo, TX, recently launched http://www.141b.com, an informational site about the U.S. phase-out of HCFC-141b (also known as dichlorofluoroethane). The site is intended as a one-stop, objective resource on the subject – free from advertising or any other sales pitches.

tesa AG, Charlotte, NC, announced the start of a new subsidiary in Mexico. This new operation, Technical Tape Mexico, S.A. de C.V., gives tesa expanded coverage in North America to now include two warehouses and two manufacturing plants.

Transene Co., Danvers, MA, has expanded its website of electronic materials to include new product information. The reformatted site presents detailed technical information for the company’s conductive epoxies and epoxy adhesives, conformal coatings, encapsulants, PC board materials, wet chemical etchants, electroplating chemicals, and cathode coatings.
