Tremco Commercial Sealants & Waterproofing (CS&W) was recognized for its commitment to excellence in LEAN manufacturing and for developing a corporate culture that fosters ongoing improvement. The award was given by manufacturing advocacy group, MAGNET, Cleveland State University’s Nance College of Business Administration and the Rotary Club on May 6. Ken Recko, vice president of Manufacturing, North America, accepted on behalf of Tremco CS&W.

Tremco CS&W’s four major manufacturing sites embrace Six Sigma and LEAN as part of their corporate culture to eliminate waste, improve quality, and reduce throughput time. Numerous BPE teams, 5S events, Kaizen Events, and extensive tracking of performance using visual factory tools have been implemented within the manufacturing plants, amounting to significant cost savings, improved efficiency, increased productivity and better customer satisfaction.

“I am extremely proud of the positive initiative, hard work and expertise our employees provide each day. The quality of our work is evident in our service levels and the productivity improvements at the plants,” Ken Recko said.
