Asymtek, Carlsbad, Calif., has joined the Advanced Packaging & Interconnect Alliance, a new association of leading equipment, process and materials companies that represent the foremost authorities on advanced packaging and interconnect technologies.

BASF, Mount Olive, N.J., has expanded production capacity for its medium-molecular-weight polyisobutenes by 10,000 metric tons per year at its manufacturing site in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

Bostik Findley, Wawatosa, Wis., has acquired the JONBOND emulsion pressure sensitive adhesives product line from Johnson Polymer, the Chemical Division of S.C. Johnson.

CHEMCENTRAL Corp., Chicago, has signed a definitive agreement to purchase the Specialty Additives business of The C.P. Hall Co. The transaction is expected to be completed early in 2003.

Degussa Corp., Parsippany, N.J., has opened a new production plant at the company’s Mobile, Ala., facility, greatly increasing global production capacity for aminosilanes.

Great Lakes Chemical Corp., Indianapolis, has acquired Flexsys America’s non-staining phenolic antioxidants business that includes process technology associated with Santonox TBMC, Santovar TAHQ, and Santowhite BBMC.

Huntsman Polyurethanes’ Auburn Hills, Mich., facility has received the Rising Star award from the State of Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Agency Voluntary Protection Program.

MERQUINSA, Barcelona, Spain, a polyurethane manufacturer, has expanded its presence in the Asia Pacific Region with the establishment of a new company, MERQUINSA ASIA PACIFIC LTD., in Hong Kong.

Profill Corp., North Canton, Ohio, a contract adhesive packager, now offers prototype developments, pre-production runs and contract production for companies in need of having their parts filled, bonded, gasketed, sealed, encapsulated or potted.

Resolution Performance Products L.L.C., Houston, has announced plans for a $3.8-million capacity expansion for waterborne epoxy resins at the company’s Argo, Ill., production plant.

Testing Machines Inc. has moved its production, engineering, sales, marketing, PM&C and corporate offices to Ronkonkoma, N.Y. The new address is 2 Fleetwood Court, Ronkonkoma, NY 11779. The phone, fax and e-mail addresses are unchanged.

Vopak USA, Kirkland, Wash., is now Univar USA, the result of a split-off of the chemical-distribution activities of Royal Vopak to form an independent company named Univar NV.

Unimin Corp., New Canaan, Conn., announced plans to expand production capacity by 30% for micronized nepheline syenite at its Nephton and Blue Mountain, Ontario, processing plants.

Wacker Chemical Corp., Adrian, Mich., has aligned with four regional specialty-chemical distributors to supply and service Wacker Silicones’ products throughout the United States. The partnerships were formed with Rudolph Brothers and Co., R.P. Morrison Co., TayChem Industries and Walco Materials Group.
