The new lab allows Sartomer chemists to perform full pellet-to-pellet conversion, and to mold and test thermoplastics up to 400ºC. The facility includes a C.W. Brabender® extruder; a Morgan-Press molder; an Instron® POE2000 impact tester; an Instron tensile tester; a TA Instruments dynamic mechanical analyzer; a TA instruments differential scanning calorimeter; and a TA Instruments rheometer.
Sartomer’s Krasol®, Ricon® Poly bd® and SMA® resins can be used to modify plastic properties, including adhesion, barrier, compatibility, heat resistance, impact strength, flexibility, dielectric, compression set and melt-flow index. Sartomer will showcase these technologies in booth #45084 (South Hall) at NPE 2009, June 22-26, 2009, in Chicago.
