Solar Compounds Names Barbanel Executive Vice President, Aquires Vision

Solar Compounds Corp. president Harry Bockus has announced the appointment of Joseph Barbanel to the position of executive vice president. Barbanel will oversee Solar's Operations, R&D and Sales and Marketing. He brings to Solar 30 years of experience in the fields of polymers and specialty chemicals. Under Barbanel's direction, Solar recently acquired The Vision Adhesives Corp. of Baltimore, MD, in a move designed to further broaden Solar's worldwide market presence. Barbanel comes to Solar Compounds from Lubrizol Dock Resins in Linden, NJ, where he served as senior vice president of Operations. Prior to that, he worked in Applied R&D and Corporate Planning at Air Products and Chemicals.
