Sulzer recently announced its board of directors has unanimously appointed Klaus Stahlmann as CEO, effective immediately. Stahlmann reportedly has comprehensive global experience in many of Sulzer’s key markets and a strong leadership track record.

Stahlmann previously worked as CEO of MAN Diesel and Turbo, a leading provider of diesel engines and turbomachinery. In this position, he managed the successful integration of MAN Turbo and MAN Diesel into one division. From 2007 to 2009, he was CEO of MAN Turbo, and he successfully implemented a market-oriented structure and globalized the manufacturing footprint.

“The Board of Directors of Sulzer is very pleased that Klaus Stahlmann will join Sulzer as new CEO,” said Jürgen Dormann, board chairman. “He brings comprehensive knowledge and a broad understanding of many of our key markets to his new position. Klaus Stahlmann has also demonstrated excellent leadership skills in global businesses in challenging market situations. After a thorough analysis, the Sulzer Board of Directors is convinced that Klaus Stahlmann fulfills Sulzer’s high requirements regarding integrity and compliance.”
