Nordson Corp. recently announced the promotion of Gregory A. Thaxton to the position of corporate senior vice president. Thaxton, previously elected as a Nordson corporate vice president in 2007, serves as vice president, chief Financial officer, reporting to Nordson president and CEO Michael F. Hilton.

“Greg is well-deserving of this promotion to corporate senior vice president,” Hilton said. “Nordson has significantly improved its financial performance during Greg’s time as chief financial officer, and his sound judgment continues to be invaluable in setting our strategic direction moving forward. He is an outstanding partner to our business units, an excellent mentor to many, and a steward of our corporate values.”

As chief financial officer, Thaxton directs the corporate accounting and reporting, internal audit, tax, treasury, investor relations, and business control functions. He became a part of the executive leadership team in February 2006 when he was named corporate controller and chief Accounting officer. Previously, Thaxton served as group controller for the Pacific South Division and the Finishing and Coating Systems segment, as well as the Automotive Systems and UV Curing Systems businesses. Thaxton joined Nordson in 1989.
