Niaga^®, an innovation venture of Covestro, is the winner of the 2022 European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Community Circular Economy Prize in the Digital Products Passports (DPP) category. 

Two Dow adhesive systems commonly used for a broad range of polyethylene (PE) film packaging applications have been approved as compatible for mechanical recycling following a scientific evaluation by RecyClass.

The companies are entering into a long-term power purchase agreement with EDF Energy Services LLC (EDF). The agreement intends for American Acryl, a joint venture between the companies, to get 100% of its expected annual energy usage to be supplied by wind power.

With the increase in interest in sustainable materials and manufacturing, there will be a significant opportunity for U.S. manufacturers that use common sense, good manufacturing practices. 

The United States needs to do a much better job at recycling, especially plastics waste, which at a 5% recycling rate is trailing recycling rates for other packaging and containers.
