Corporate America formals up as unemployment fears rise.

Do the clothes make the man? In some companies, they do. A recent article on WSJ.com looks at corporate culture from a fashion point of view – specifically at law firm Bickel & Brewer, where business casual doesn’t exist. Instead, everyone from the mailroom staff to the most high powered attorney dresses in a suit and tie every day.

The article says that “power dressing” is coming back into style as the layoffs increase and people start to become concerned about keeping their jobs. Although we work in a fairly casual industry, I haven’t noticed an increase in business formal attire. Have you? Is this new-found formalness trend hitting the markets you serve, or is business casual here to stay? Leave a comment below.
