The Family and Medical Leave Act recently turned 20 years old. Have you used the FMLA to take time off work?

No: 85%
Yes: 15%

Another hidden cost to businesses required by the government.

Great idea for those in need. I had my kids just before it went into effect, but I don't think it would have changed anything for me- my wife got time off without it. I don't know how common that would be without the Act. I certainly favor it.

Pay your own way!

I think the act is a great benefit for workers. Being able to take care of new born children or help care for family members in times of sickness adds to a persons quality of life.

It was very helpful to me when my father became very ill, and I needed to travel across the country to find assisted living arrangements for him.
