Last week, we asked about Tesla Motors’ announced that it will provide access to its patents to other automakers at no charge. We asked: Do you think this is a good idea? Seventy-seven percent of respondents answered yes, while 16% said no and 7% weren’t sure.

Comments:

“Access should be free since tax dollars helped fund the research.”

“Giving away hard-earned patents is foolish. He may as well hand them over to the Chinese!”

“It could be if Tesla then controls/owns all of the hypercharging stations that supply the quick power refills for the batteries.”

“I am sure they have a good reason for this action. Elon Musk is not stupid”
