Automotive Sealing Engineer / Vehicle Launch Lead

EXPERIENCE: March 1995 to December 2008. Chrysler LLC. Contract Engineer. Chrysler Technical Center, Auburn Hills, MI. Technical Engineering Consultants, TEC. Appointed 2008 LC22, Challenger, Sealing Launch Team Lead. Responsible for managing a team of five engineers from pre-S0 through to launch complete. My team was responsible for complete vehicle sealing for wind, road noise and water leak prevention, including baffles, paint and body sealers, adhesives, plugs, weather strips, PUR foam, tapes and fiberglass stiffening patches. Brampton Assembly. Brampton, Ontario. My deliverables to senior management: - Ensure parts and materials for both bulk and dynamic sealing were validated, released and processed while maintaining cost, quality, weight and function objectives. - Prepare weekly presentations of status and present to senior VP's and plant management. - Manage manpower for engineering direction, corporate goals, travel, budgets and motivation. - Produce launch that meets or exceeds corporate goals for NVH, water prevention, cost, weight and investment. Results were that all goals were met. The exceptions were NVH and water prevention. Both exceeded goals. CFM set corporate records of 100cfm average per plant audits. Water leak FTC at launch 99% through in-line water tests. Appointed bulk sealing Launch Lead for 2004 Chrysler 300M, Dodge Charger and Dodge Magnum, LX Platform. Solely responsible for launch of all bulk BIW sealers including baffles, plugs, patches, PUR foam, paint and body sealers and adhesives. Results were all corporate goals exceeded. CFM average 112cfm, BIW 45cfm, lowest in Chrysler at the time, water test BIW FTC 99% at launch. Appointed sealing release engineer for 2001 Seabring and Stratus, JR platform. Responsible for design, development and release for all BIW sealing from vehicle inception through launch complete. Meet corporate goals for cost, weight, investment and quality. Launch product. Sterling Heights Assembly. Sterling Heights, MI. Results were all goals exceeded. First dry car launch for Chrysler with no paint shop thumb grade sealer. Pre CFM testing. ACHIEVED EXPERTISE IN: - Vehicle launches - In plant process development - Interaction with upper management - Design of BIW for sealing - Design of sealing components and materials - In plant and CTC wind and water root causing - Vehicle Inspection - Corporate program management - Meeting coordination - Develop and present high level presentations - Supplier interaction - CATIA V5 - Microsoft applications - Communication skills - Cost and weight reductions - Quality improvements 1984 to 1994. General Motors Corp. GM Technical Center. Warren Mi. Direct employee. BIW Sealing Release Engineer. Responsible for all bulk sealing for the following platforms and assembly plants: - 1984 Fiero. Pontiac Assembly - 1988 GM 25 Program. Willmington Assembly. Newark Assembly. - 1990 GM 10 Program. Ashawa Assembly. Doraville Assembly - Carry over Camero and Firebird. Van Nuys Assembly All whom I have worked with over the years consider me to be high energy and a high achiever. With the dozens of successful vehicle launches plus close supplier interactions I have had over the years in addition to the vast multitude of experiences at Chrysler and General Motors, I believe I would make an immediate positive impact.
