David S. Simmons, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Polymer Engineering at The University of Akron, has been awarded the National Science Foundation Career Award to study glass transition. His project “Glass formation in strongly interacting polymers—predictive understanding from high-throughput simulation and theory” will use computer simulations and theoretical approaches in order to understand glass transition in strongly interactive polymers. This research may have applications in medical, energy and battery applications.
