Dow to Introduce New Capacity for Epichlorohydrin and Liquid Epoxy Resin
Dow Chemical is working on construction of its new liquid epoxy resin and world-scale epichlorohydrin production-facility expansions.
FREEPORT, Texas — The Dow Chemical Co. is working on construction of its new liquid epoxy resin and world-scale epichlorohydrin production-facility expansions. Completion is expected in the fourth quarter of 1999. Both production facilities will incorporate improved manufacturing process technology.
Dow is a leading global producer of liquid epoxy resin and epichlorohydrin, a raw material used in the production of liquid epoxy resin, synthetic glycerine, glycidyl methacrylate and a variety of specialty chemicals. The new production facilities will increase Dow’s capacity for liquid epoxy resin by 90 million pounds and its capacity for epichlorohydrin by 250 million pounds.
