Bayer MaterialScience introduces UV-curing coatings for the cost-efficient and sustainable coating of furniture and parquet flooring.
In recent years, waterborne UV-curing coatings have gained an increasing market share. For example, office furniture manufacturers now advertise that their products are coated through a low-emissions, environmentally compatible process. Such requirements can be met particularly cost effectively with coatings based on raw materials Bayer MaterialScience’s Bayhydrol® UV range, which cure in seconds under UV light. The solvent-free waterborne dispersion Bayhydrol® UV XP 2775 is used for white-pigmented, UV-curing coatings and topcoats. The surface is characterized by excellent chemical and stain resistance, even with a high pigment content. Coatings formulated to contain this product also have good gloss and outstanding hardness, making them suitable for use in wood and furniture finishing, including for kitchen cabinetry.
