Dip-Tech, a provider of digital ceramic in-glass printing solutions, recently announced it has received ABZ-70.1-75 certification from the German Institute for Civil Engineering (Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik) for glass printed with Dip-Tech Digital ceramic inks to be used with Dow Corning® 993 structural glazing sealant. The testing was performed by IFT-Rosenheim Institute on glass samples produced by Flachglass Wernberg. The accreditation, issued in October 2012, covers enameled ESG, ESG-H and TVG glass panels printed with Dip-Tech inks for bonding with Dow Corning 993 structural glazing sealant. Dip-Tech inks are reportedly the only inks used in a digital printing process that have received this industry accreditation.
“We see this certificate as an additional and impartial approval of the flexibility that can be gained by using Dip Digital ceramic printing for glass in a wide range of applications,” said Ariel Litwak, Ph.D., executive vice president of Dip-Tech. “This confirms to our customers that digitally printed glass produced with Dip-Tech digital ceramic inks and printers can be combined with Dow Corning 993 structural glazing sealant with full confidence that the system and glass will be safely bonded.”
