DELO recently announced that it has broken the world record for achieving the heaviest lift using adhesive. The company reportedly lifted an 18-ton (17.5 metric tons) truck, surpassing the previous record of 16.3 metric tons. The new record was officially recognized by Guinness World Records.
For the world-record attempt, an 18-ton truck was lifted by crane to a height of 1 m with 3 g of adhesive. The entire weight hung for 1 hr on a bonded aluminum cylinder with a radius of 3.5 cm, which corresponds to the diameter of a standard soft drink can.
