Mactac Tapes and Adhesives for Photographic Enclosure Materials Meet ISO Standards
To meet ISO 18916 standards, Mactac reports that it submitted samples of its CleanBond™ double-coated tapes (LV820 and LV840) and CleanFilm™ transfer adhesives (LV820) to a third-party facility to test the products’ suitability for use in photographic mounting applications.
Mactac® Industrial Tapes recently announced that its CleanTape™ line of low-volatile organic compound (VOC) acrylic double-coated tapes and transfer adhesives meet International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 18916 standards for photographic enclosure materials. The testing was reportedly driven by customer requests for a low-outgassing, acid-free tape for use in photographic mounting applications.
To meet the standards, Mactac reports that it submitted samples of its CleanBond™ double-coated tapes (LV820 and LV840) and CleanFilm™ transfer adhesives (LV820) to a third-party facility to test the products’ suitability for use in photographic mounting applications. During testing, product samples were brought in contact with processed silver gelatin, color (dye gelatin), inkjet prints made with dye-based and pigment-based inks, thermal dye diffusion transfer prints, digitally printed dye-diffusion-transfer prints, liquid- and dry-toner xerographic prints, liquid-toner electrostatic prints, and diazo images after long-term storage.
