EpoxySet Inc. recently announced that it will showcase its FLASHBOND™ UV-5608DC delay-cure epoxy at MD&M West, which will be held February 11-13, 2020, in Anaheim, Calif. According to the company, FLASHBOND UV-5608DC allows for fast processing and fixturing of parts, even if both parts are opaque.
The one-part epoxy can reportedly be activated by UV or blue light from 365-405 nm with an intensity of about 150 mW/cm2 for 5-10 sec. Parts are then mated together and aligned within 45-60 sec of activation. The adhesive yields green strength after 30 min for handling. Full cure occurs over the next 16 hrs at room temperature.
