LinkedIn recently announced it will lower its minimum sign-up age in the U.S. to 14 to try to become a resource for college-bound teens. In addition, "University Pages" will be rolled out, which high school students can use to find campus news and even trace the careers of alumni. Do you think this is a good idea?

Let kids be kids.  Plus they have Facebook and Twitter.

Never used LinkedIn myself

It is good to have many resources for your college choice.  However, I worry about this industry resource becoming "Facebook Like".

The sooner people who are serious about their careers get started on LinkedIn, the better they will be able to leverage the site.
