Application<br>PSA Supplier Provides Materials for Commemorative Stamps
The "Greetings From America" 34-cent stamps were issued concurrently in every state and feature flora, fauna and points of interest from each state. The designs, illustrated by artist Lonnie Busch of Franklin, N.C., reflect the retro large-letter postcards of the 1930s and 1940s that were used to advertise cities, states or tourist attractions. The new stamps serve a similar purpose and promote patriotism as well as tourism. Utilizing the printable features of MACtac's liner, the USPS used the backs of the 50-stamp panes to list each state's bird, flower, tree and capital city, and the date each entered the Union.
As a qualified supplier for the USPS's commemorative stamps, the company has provided materials for a number of pressure sensitive stamps. Last November, MACtac's PSA material was used in over 310 million stamps for the September 11th "United We Stand" series for vendible booklets. The stamps were designed by Terry McCaffery, manager of the USPS Stamp Development Division, and feature Old Glory, with the words "United We Stand" across the bottom of the design.
