Bayer MaterialScience recently announced the appointment of Peter Vanacker to the position of head of Industrial Marketing and Innovation. Vanacker previously served as head of the Polyurethanes business unit. In his new role, he will be responsible for driving industrial marketing and innovation as key elements of the Bayer MaterialScience growth strategy. In addition, he will lead the company’s development business activities in Functional Films and Carbon Nanotubes, among others.
Joachim Wolff, Ph.D., has taken over Vanacker’s previous role as head of the Polyurethanes business unit. In addition, Daniel Meyer has joined the executive committee and succeeded Wolff as head of the Coatings, Adhesives, and Specialties business unit. Meyer previously served as head of Marketing and Business Development within this business unit in the Asia-Pacific Region.
“I cannot stress enough how important industrial marketing is to our future growth,” said Patrick Thomas, CEO. “The markets in which we operate are changing faster today than at any time in the past, and we must ensure we develop a strong feeling for market trends through our activities in this field. Each of these individuals brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the executive committee. Their contribution to the leadership of the company will be invaluable as we continue on a strategy of growth and market extension.”
