Emerald Kalama Chemical, a business group of Emerald Performance Materials, recently announced it has promoted Shamsi P. Gravel to product line director of its K-FLEX^® platform for the Americas. Gravel joined Emerald in 2009 as product line manager and has reportedly been instrumental in shaping strategy and driving growth for the platform.

“Shamsi is an energetic and insightful leader,” said Edward Gotch, president of Emerald Kalama Chemical. “Shamsi has been responsible for identifying new target market segments, building a high-performance commercial team, and executing upon a strategy that continues to deliver impressive results for the company. As a result, we have more than doubled our capacity at our facility in the U.S. in order to meet the increased demand for our K-FLEX platform and have expanded our global footprint.”

Prior to joining Emerald, Gravel served The ChemQuest Group as a senior consultant specializing in the coatings, adhesives, resins and polymer industries. She also held various business and technical roles at Bostik Findley and Henkel (formerly National Starch).
