Charles Ross & Son Co. recently completed development on a special dual shaft vacuum mixer for the mixing and dispersion of medium- to high-viscosity adhesive materials such as epoxies, polyurethane, hot melts, and silicones. The anchor and high-speed disperser combination is capable of handling batches of up to 50 gal. This design is offered in several capacities ranging from 1 to 2,000 gal. The unit is designed for variable speed operation, with the speed of each agitator independently controlled by way of AC-variable frequency inverters. The dual shaft vacuum mixer also includes: air/oil hydraulic lift; a 50 psig jacket on the mix vessel for heating or cooling; a 2' flush type discharge valve in the bottom of the mix vessel; 316 stainless steel wetted parts; and more.
