Farnam Custom Products and EIT^® Inc. have teamed up to supply the industry’s first portable, “smart” hot-air thermal process controller. The product combines Farnam’s 26 years of experience with heat applications and EIT’s 31 years of electronics and process control experience in an easy-to-use system that provides complete control over process air temperature, velocity, and volume flow rate. The new system provides the highest degree of process heat control available in today’s market.

The system contains a filtered, self-contained blower that makes it the perfect tool for laboratories, portable applications, or anywhere where a convenient source of accurate, repeatable process heating is required.

The system provides temperature capability from 150ºF to 1100ºF (60ºC to 600ºC) using Farnam’s Cool Touch^TM heat torch. A splash-proof design minimizes the skin temperature of the heater to protect people and product from hot surfaces.

A simple-to-operate LCD interface makes it easy to regulate and monitor all process heating variables (temperature, velocity, and volume). The processor adjusts the heater to deliver the programmed heat profile and provides both audible and electronic alarms for process monitoring.

Built-in safety features protect the heater against unintended heater damage and dramatically extends normal heater lifetime. A high-efficiency, 10-micron air filter provides clean process heating air for applications where airborne contamination is a concern.

The product will be marketed by Farnam as the Thermal Process Controller and by EIT as the TIP^TM1K.
