CHARLES ROSS & SON CO. OFFERS NEW HIGH-SHEAR MIXER DESIGN

The new PreMax model from Charles Ross & Son Co. is a highly efficient mixer often used to improve pigment dispersion prior to media milling. The PreMax contains a specially designed rotor/stator that creates high flow and shear rates. This unit has proven that it can, in some cases, eliminate the need for a media mill. In all cases, this mixer reduces the number of passes required to obtain high-quality dispersions by up to 50% of that which is normally required. Typical applications include flexo and gravure inks, cosmetics, paints, and specialty coatings. The PreMax is available in a range of sizes up to 200 hp. It is also offered as a component of dual- or triple-shaft mixers that are also offered by the company.
