D-MARK: Pleated Filters

This company has expanded its OdorGuard Plus Product Line to include 1", 2" and 4" Pleated Filters with adsorbent loadings of 125, 250, and 375 grams per square foot of filter area, respectively. The "Plus" pleats offer equal volumes of 60% activity activated carbon and activated alumina impregnated with 5% potassium permanganate. This blend of adsorbents will remove a wide range of odors, VOCs and light gases, including ammonia, formaldehyde, hydrogen sulfide, and sulfur dioxide. Since no adhesives are used, all OdorGuard pleats offer low resistance and maximum adsorption properties. They are extremely clean, will not shed or dust in the application and have UL class 2 approval. They are available in standard and special sizes. A 12" deep "Rigid Cell" is currently under development.

FLOWSERVE CORP.: Bevel Gear Operators

Flowserve Corp. has announced the launch of the Limitorque Actuation Systems MT series of bevel gear operators. MT series operators are optimized to deliver reliable performance in power industry valve applications, among other uses. Designed as a superior combination of a bevel gear operator torque housing with a new thrust-based design, the MT series is ideally suited for torque-seated valve applications and applications involving elevated process temperatures. MT series bevel gears and thrust base housings are made of ductile iron. Robust thust bearings and a drive sleeve/stem nut design combine to offer the most rugged bevel gear operator available for handling the seating and unseating forces of high-pressure gate and globe valves found in power plants around the world. The MT operator stem nut is shouldered in the drive sleeve to capture thrust forces within the thrust housing without transferring those forces to the torque housing.

I&J FISNAR: Dispensing Robot

The new I&J7100 bench top Cartesian dispensing robot is an ideal choice when cost and bench space are important considerations. The I&J7100 robot handles a dispensing area of 8 x 6 inches and is capable of storing up to 100 different programs. The unit provides a significant cost savings when compared to existing bench robot systems. Step-by-step intuitive instructions simplify job-creation tasks, allowing a program to be entered and up and running in minutes. A 16-channel I/O interface allows for communication with external devices for secondary applications and multiple dispensing equipment components, and an optional Windows Software Package with a DXF file converter is available for programming from a PC. An optional Vision System Package is also available for automatic part location.

LOCTITE CORP.: Peristaltic Dispenser

The Loctite® Benchtop Peristaltic Dispenser is a reliable volumetric dispense system for single-component, low-viscosity fluids. Designed for highly precise dispensing applications requiring both dot-to-dot or continuous bead repeatability, this equipment transfers adhesives directly from the bottle to the handheld dispense valve. The Loctite Benchtop Peristaltic Dispenser is electromechanically operated and uses pressure from a mechanical rotor rather than a pneumatic air source to move adhesives or solvents with viscosities up to 5000 cPs. This air-free dispensing method essentially eliminates the problem of premature curing with air/moisture-sensitive products.

MIXPAC: Bench Dispenser

The MIXPAC DXB Bench Dispenser is a portable, bench-top unit that offers a fast, simple and accurate solution for dispensing two-component reactive resins of 1:1, 1.5:1, 2:1, 4:1 and 10:1 ratios. The DXB is a versatile and economic dispensing system that allows the A&B components of flowable adhesives to be gravity-fed from separate, refillable 2-gal containers through an integral DXB Dispenser. This bench-top dispenser, which comes with a foot-pedal actuator, allows for a hands-free operation that ensures precise mix ratios and reproducible results. The stand is fully adjustable over three axes and can accommodate a wide range of product applications.

CHARLES ROSS AND SON CO.: Dual-Shaft Mixer

This company has announced the launch of a new Dual-Shaft VersaMix design that incorporates a special helical agitator and high-speed dispersion blade. This combination of agitators provides improved axial and radial turnover of the materials being mixed while applying high shear to the product. The helical agitator is designed for bi-directional operation. Teflon scraper assemblies are attached to the outside of the anchor agitator to facilitate scraping of the sides and bottom of the vessel when operating in either the forward or reverse direction. The VersaMix can also incorporate a High Shear Rotor-Stator mixer.

SEALANT EQUIPMENT & ENGINEERING: Meter System

The Servo-Flo® 505 Fixed-Ratio Meter System is ideal for automated, robotic or manual dispensing applications. This single-servomotor dispensing system allows fixed and variable dispense rates while providing on-ratio materials that meet suppliers' specifications. Three levels of operator interface controls are available to handle any production dispensing application. The system's operator-interface control quickly sets output flow rates and adjusts material volume settings. The automation or the operator can select different stored flow and volume programs for different product-dispensing requirements. The Servo-Flo 505 system, with positive rod displacement metering, dispenses precise bead profiles or precision volumetric shots. Flow rates are varied on-ratio during the dispense cycle to provide different shot flows, bead diameters and tip speeds.
