ASI'sEditor Teresa McPherson introduces the new staff and discusses her goals with the editorial direction of the magazine.

This issue ofAdhesives & Sealants Industrybrings a number of changes with it. As most of you know, Karen Kramer has retired after a long and successful tenure as editor of this fine publication. I am pleased to introduce myself as the new editor ofASIand hope to continue serving you, our readers, with the same level of quality that she has established. I joined Business News Publishing in 1997 as assistant editor ofASIand our sister publication,Paint & Coatings Industrymagazine. I have spent the last four years as managing editor ofPCI, and welcome the challenges and opportunities that come with being editor of this magazine. Some of you may already know me from speaking on the phone or meeting in person at various trade events. Those of you I haven’t met, please feel free to call me or send a quick e-mail to introduce yourself.

ASI has also bid farewell to Kristin Johansson, who has accepted the position of managing editor of PCI. I know that all of you who have worked with Kristin in the past join us in wishing her well in her new position.

This issue marks the start of our new managing editor, Brian Hayes. Brian is a 1998 graduate of The Ohio State University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in English. He has written for a number of publications and organizations, including Dialogue magazine, the U.S. Department of Energy and the Ohio School Facilities Commission. Please join me in welcoming Brian to the adhesives and sealants industry and to ASI.

Brian and I will work hard to maintain the high standards that our readers have come to expect from this magazine. As such, over the next few months, we will be introducing a number of exciting changes that will make ASI even more valuable for our readers. One such change will help propel us forward as we eliminate reader service cards and circle numbers in the magazine. Editorial will instead carry author contact information directly following the article.

We have also created a general e-mail address for editorial correspondence, including letters to the editor and press release submissions — asi@bnp.com.

Please take a moment to let us know how we are doing. Is there a topic you would like to see covered in greater detail? In addition to the informative technical articles you’ve come to expect from ASI, we’re always looking for story ideas on new innovations in the industry. Give me a call or send me an e-mail message to mcphersont@bnp.com and let me know. We love to hear from our readers, and together we can continue and enhance the value of ASI.
