Eastman Chemical Co. announced it is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Eastman Texanol™ ester alcohol this year. In addition, the company has received the 2012 Energy Star® partner of the year. The announcements were made at the American Coatings Show May 8-10 in Indianapolis, IN.

The company also introduced Eastman Optifilm™ additives for low-VOC paint, including Optifilm 400 coalescent and the new Optifilm additive OT1200, a low-VOC alternative that can improve workability of paint by increasing open time.
