Dow Corning has named James Stephenson global marketing manager for its healthcare business. He will be responsible for setting the overall strategic direction and overseeing the development and commercialization of new silicon-based technologies.

Stephenson joined Dow Corning in 1997 and has more than a decade of experience in business development and commercial leadership. He most recently led a cross-functional team within the corporate incubator, driving some of Dow Corning’s future businesses toward commercial success. He also served as global product line manager for the Advanced Technologies and Ventures business, where he provided management oversight for more than 1,000 high-technology products sold in the electronics industry.

“Healthcare faces significant challenges in every corner of the globe,” said Carol Pudnos, executive director, Healthcare Industries, Dow Corning. “Dow Corning is working toward the next step-change in the use of silicones to meet these challenges. James not only brings expertise in managing uncertainty, portfolio management and value sharing, but also has a passion for how our technology can be used to help bring a better quality of life for everyone, everywhere. This will be critical as we continue to expand our presence within the industries that comprise our healthcare business.”
