Some politicians have suggested overhauling or possibly getting rid of the U.S. EPA. Would you agree with a revamp or entire recreation of this government agency?

Yes, drastic changes are needed: 75%

No, it should remain as-is: 17%

Other/Unsure: 8%

Comments:

“The EPA, along with a whole host of government agencies including HUD, DOE, HHS, FCC, etc., is obsolete. The states have their own versions of these agencies. Let the states determine the rules by quorum.”

“We don’t regulate our own industries. If we did not have the EPA, we would be severely polluted like Eastern Europe was under communism.”

“The EPA should be eliminated no later than June 30, 2011, and then let Congress pass the laws instead of some incompetent bureaucrat. The same applies to both the Education Dept. and the Energy Dept.-all they do is hinder progress and the economy. As a follow-up, OSHA should be reduced by 90% NOW.”

“We need the EPA.”

“Sounds like another de-regulation that won’t stimulate work.”

“The EPA, with its increasingly draconian laws, is being used to destroy manufacturing in this country.”

“We need a stronger EPA. One with more power to shut companies down.”
