The Adhesive and Sealant Council, Inc. (ASC) will hold its biannual Convention and Expo October 3-5 at the Cincinnati Marriott at RiverCenter in Covington, KY. Hundreds of professionals will benefit from the opportunity to investigate new industry trends and issues while establishing key business connections with other trade leaders.

Educational Tracks

The Fall 2010 program includes a lineup of educational sessions that are arranged by theme so attendees can easily set their schedules. ASC has condensed lectures into three educational tracks: Business Development, Technical/Government Regulations, and Sustainability. Each focus area will have noted speakers and presentations on the designated subject matter. All presentations will address ways to understand and adapt to contemporary changes in the adhesives and sealants industry.

Sales and marketing professionals should find the Business Development track helpful. This track will emphasize current customer demands in the adhesives and sealants industry, and information will be provided about developing market opportunities.

The Technical/Government Regulations track will discuss such important issues as TSCA reform, REACH implications, and other developing technical or safety regulations that may impact the adhesives and sealants industry in the future. Individuals who need to have a specialized awareness of changes in industry regulations should attend.

During the Sustainability track presentations, attendees will learn more about applying new “green” technologies to manufacturing processes. This track is designed for business development and R&D professionals.

Polyurethane Preview

A Polyurethanes Short Course program will be held on October 3 and 4. Polyurethane technologies are crucial to the adhesives and sealants industry because they have such a tremendous amount of potential applications. The Short Course will review the basics regarding raw materials, application, dispensing, formulation and methods, and new uses for polyurethanes will be suggested. The program is aimed at engineers and chemists who work for adhesive and sealant manufacturers, equipment suppliers, and end-user businesses. Sales professionals should find the Short Course to be of interest as well.

The ASC EXPO

A variety of exhibitors at the expo on October 4 will have the opportunity to showcase new products, services and technologies to attendees. The Exhibitor Appreciation Reception and sponsored door prizes will help draw delegates to the Northern Kentucky Convention Center so that global suppliers and manufacturers can market their innovations and share trade information with a large assortment of industry colleagues. More than 40 companies have registered to exhibit, and about 300 visitors are expected to attend.

Other Points of Interest

This year’s convention will commence with an ASC golf outing at Stonelick Hills golf course in Cincinnati on October 3. The round of golf will be followed by a cookout at the clubhouse. This outing will supply participants with the chance to network with their colleagues in a friendly, relaxed environment. That evening, convention attendees will enjoy a Welcome Reception with food and drinks.

Other sessions of note include an Opening Breakfast (sponsored by ASI), ASC’s annual member meeting, and a Closing Reception.
