The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) has announced that Stefan Borgas, CEO of Lonza, will be the featured speaker at its annual March Luncheon at the Waldorf=Astoria hotel in New York City on March 18.

Borgas, who will discuss his outlook on the chemical industry, has led Lonza since 2004. Prior to joining the multinational specialty chemical producer, Borgas held various positions at BASF Group. The most recent position was group vice president, Regional Business Unit Fine Chemicals North America. Borgas is a member of the board of directors of Syngenta and serves as a board member of the Swiss American Chamber of Commerce. He holds a degree in business administration from the University of Saarbruecken and an MBA from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.

SOCMA’s March Luncheon is held annually in conjunction with DCAT Week. Each year it draws hundreds of chemical executives from around the world for networking and a special lunch presentation by industry leaders.
