Dynamic opportunities will be plentiful for industry professionals at the 2012 Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) Spring Convention and Expo. This year, the annual event is scheduled to be held for the first time in Denver, CO. From April 15-17, hundreds of visitors will benefit from networking with industry leaders, exploring the expo booths, and discovering new ideas and technologies in the world of adhesives and sealants.
Ken Mayland, president of Clearview Economics, will kick off the opening general session breakfast with his keynote presentation, “The 2012 Economic Update: How to Profit in a Crummy Economy.” Other scheduled speakers include Vincent Yuskiewicz, energy advisor for ExxonMobil’s Corporate Strategic Planning Department; Robert Peoples, director of the ACS Green Chemistry Institute; and Mark LaFrance, technology development manager for the U.S. Department of Energy.
A Chance to Learn
Morning and afternoon educational sessions will take place on both Monday and Tuesday. Focus areas in this year’s program will cover end user trends and requirements, raw material development and sustainability, formulation, global trends and economic conditions, energy outlook, and more. Featured speakers for the educational sessions will include industry leaders from Nike, Boeing, ICIS and the American Chemistry Council.
A Waterborne Adhesives Short Course will also be offered as a two-day program for attendees to expand their knowledge of the technology and formulation of leading waterborne adhesives. The course will be taught by industry experts and is ideal for chemists, application engineers, and sales and marketing professionals.
One of the key highlights of the ASC Spring Convention will be the networking opportunities for all attendees. “ASC enjoyed record attendance at its meetings in 2011,” explains Glenn Frommer, ASC president. “New blood and new ideas are being discussed and shared during lunches, dinners and at networking receptions.”
Visitors can take part in networking opportunities at the expo on Monday. Over 50 raw materials and equipment suppliers will be displaying the latest technology and industry developments, and more than 300 professionals from across the industry supply chain are expected to attend. Several prizes, including Kindle Fires, digital cameras and an iPad, will be raffled off to Expo visitors.
Additional networking opportunities at the ASC Spring Convention will include the golf outing (to be held at Fossil Trace Golf Club in Denver), the First-Time Attendees and New Members Reception, the Sunday Welcome Reception, and the CEO Lunch.
