Peter Bollinger

Universal Instruments has announced the appointment ofPeter Bollinger to the position of director of European Operations. Operating from Universal's offices in Bad Vilbel near Frankfurt, Germany, Bollinger took over the role from Brad Bennett, who has relocated back to Universal's Binghamton, NY, facility. In his new position, Bollinger assumes direct responsibility for all sales and service activities in Europe, continuing the progressive approach of his predecessor.

William J. Geary has been elected president of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), Dearborn, MI, for 2006. Geary currently serves as chief engineer, aircraft interiors, 737 program, at The Boeing Co. in Seattle. He joins three other officers and three directors to form the SME's Executive Committee.

MarChem Northeast Inc., Mountain Top, PA, has promoted Marc Layland to the position of general manager from operations manager. Layland joined the company in early 2003 as plant manager after serving as operations manager for a lighting products firm in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
