MoreThe Construction Users Roundtable (CURT), formerly the construction arm of the Business Roundtable, has honored Rohm and Haas Co. with its 2003 Construction Industry Safety Excellence (CISE) Award for safety excellence on an international project. The award, presented on November 10 at the annual CURT National Construction Owners Conference, recognizes the outstanding safety record Rohm and Haas achieved in the construction of its new $20 million Adhesives and Sealants and Coatings Manufacturing and Technical Service Facility in Taloja, India. A total of 3.4 million manhours were logged by more than 5,000 construction workers, with only four injuries reported. According to the Executive Committee of CURT, the commitment of Rohm and Haas to safety excellence positions the company "as a leader in improving construction industry safety performance."
