Ultrabond ECO 995 urethane wood adhesive features sound-reduction properties that have been documented by sound test reports from NGC Testing Services of Buffalo, NY, an acoustical testing laboratory. Recent test results have shown that the adhesive achieved a rating of 50 for both STC (Sound Transmission Class) and IIC (Impact Insulation Class) when used to install 3/8-inch (10 mm) engineered wood flooring over a 6-inch (15 cm) concrete slab with no suspended ceiling. In addition, further testing has shown that the adhesive acts as a crack-isolation material that can handle lateral, in-plane cracks in the concrete subfloor up to 1/8 inch (3 mm) in width. Its crack-isolation capabilities reduce the chance of seams opening or gaps in the finished floor.
