ChemInstruments has announced the introduction of the newest member of its family of Quality Control Test Equipment, the COF-500, Coefficient of Friction test platform. The COF-500 is ideally suited to test the coefficient of friction of papers, films, foils, synthetic materials and nonwovens used in label, tape, packaging, and other specialty applications. Designed to calculate both static and kinetic test results from a single test sequence, the COF-500 offers several key features, including three test speeds (6, 12 and 24 IPM), automatic COF calculation based on a programmable test sled weight, and a standard 2.5" square test sled with ASTM-specified rubber cover. The COF-500 is designed to meet the requirements of several Coefficient of Friction test methods, including ASTM D1894.
