recently named the 2008 winner of the Suzanne Thaler Rising Star Award. The
award is given to a woman with outstanding accomplishments in business who
shows leadership in her industry and the South
Carolina community. The award was given by GSA
Business at the 8th annual GSA Business Women’s
Summit.
Darling’s accomplishments over the last year included an 18,000-square-foot expansion to DarTape’s operations, doubling total company sales and the design of a new proprietary production line for the manufacture of extended liner tapes.
“I know what I’ve accomplished, but to be recognized is such an honor,” said Darling. When asked what advice she would give to others who were starting a business, she replied, “Never give up, stick to what you believe in.” Darling started DarTape Technologies, a double-sided tape manufacturing company that specializes in narrow web converting and extended liner tapes, in Piedmont, SC, five years ago.
