Amacoil/Uhing has introduced the V-cam option for rolling ring linear drive assemblies which enables controlled ramp down/up of the drive head while the motor rotates at a constant speed. No controls or programming are needed, which simplifies reciprocating motion system set up, operation and maintenance. The V-cam option reduces the linear speed of the drive head and gradually ramps back up to speed assuring smooth movement of the payload in applications where sudden starts and stops could reduce the accuracy, effectiveness or efficiency of the process.
