BASF has introduced Acronal NX 2278 X, its new acrylic copolymer emulsion adhesive specifically designed for the manufacture of its premium grade painters' masking tape. "This acrylic adhesive provides an exceptional combination of performance attributes," says Tim Sanborn, product marketing manager for BASF's Functional Polymers Adhesives business in North America. "With Acronal NX 2278 X, tape manufacturers can achieve an excellent balance of initial adhesion, minimal adhesion build, and clean remove-ability from painted drywall, wood, metal, vinyl, and glass surfaces for up to 14 days after application." BASF studies of peel performance on painted drywall over time show very strong performance for Acronal NX 2278 X versus several competitive adhesives.
