Global specialty chemicals manufacturer Sartomer Company has announced an agreement to purchase The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company's hydrocarbon resins business. The business includes Goodyear's family of Wingtack C5 tackifying resins and manufacturing operations in Beaumont, TX. Sartomer plans a future capacity expansion of the Beaumont plant. "Acquiring the Wingtack resins business from Goodyear is an ideal growth opportunity for us," said Nicholas Trainer, president of Sartomer. "It enables us to bolster our resins business with a well established, successful product line. But, more importantly, it allows us to offer our customers additional high-performance materials choices for their adhesives and sealants."
