HUNTSMAN: Structural Adhesives Portfolio

Huntsman Advanced Materials has announced the launch of Araldite® 2000 PLUS - a new portfolio of structural adhesives, optimized to help industrial engineers around the world bring complex plastic and metal-based design projects to life.

The Araldite® 2000 PLUS range of adhesives bills itself as the only product family to offer complete solutions based on three key chemistries: epoxy, methacrylate and polyurethane.

The launch of the Araldite 2000 PLUS range aligns Huntsman’s industrial adhesive offering more closely to the needs of the world’s leading industrial designers. To construct the range, Huntsman has re-engineered products from its classic family of Araldite structural adhesives, and has also added new solutions that were previously unavailable to the global adhesive market.

Araldite 2000 PLUS adhesives are lightweight and form long-lasting, durable bonds that are resistant to the most demanding conditions, including high shear and peel, compression, moisture, and extreme temperature changes. The global Araldite 2000 PLUS portfolio comprises 14 products. Each product can improve the performance and longevity of the materials they bond and is individually suited for joining a wide variety of substrates, including plastics, metals, and composite materials. The new range is split into two main areas, dividing products for metal and plastic bonding, which makes it much easier to assess specific performance demands and ultimately find the best solution for customers.

I&J FISNAR: Lightweight Dispensing Valve

Weighing only 4.8 oz (135 gm), the CV 629 cartridge valve from I&J Fisnar is one of the few valves that can be comfortably held in the hand without stress. Suitable for lubricants, silicones and adhesives, it is ideal for manual operations where an operator needs to apply frequent dispensing deposits.

The valve is also recommended for integration in an automated system where the quick-change, one-piece cartridge seal ensures minimal maintenance and reduced downtime. Stroke is adjustable, and the valve is recommended for micro shots or fine beads. With a maximum fluid pressure of 300 psi, the CV629 is suitable for a range of low- to high-viscosity fluids.

MOYNO: Progressing Cavity Pump

Moyno, Inc. has announced the availability of the Moyno® 2000 Progressing Cavity Pump. This versatile, high-performance pump is designed to handle a range of applications from shear-sensitive chemicals to difficult-to-process slurries and sludges.

The Moyno 2000 Pump features the acclaimed crowned gear universal joint drive train configuration to provide exceptional torque and thrust control. Patented joint seals effectively protect the gear joints from pumpage contamination. The Moyno 2000 pump line offers capacities of 2 – 2500 gpm (.5 – 568 m3/hr) and pressure capabilities to 1,000 psi (69 bar).

Numerous models are available in a variety of construction materials with many different options, allowing customization to specific needs. These options include the following:
  • Flush Gland, which allows packing leakage to be flushed away from the pump, preventing potential damage to seals and packing
  • Fiber Deflector to prevent ragging around pump connecting rod and rotor head
  • Shaft Sleeve which protects drive shaft from wear in highly abrasive applications
For more information, visit www.moyno.com.

NORCROSS CORP.: Laboratory Viscometer

The Norcross LabPak™ Viscometer is a simple-to-use mechanical device that utilizes a piston to measure time-of-fall up to 20 seconds to within 0.1 second. Capable of measuring changes in viscosity as small as 0.02 cps (depending upon the water- or solvent-based liquids being measured), this unit displays viscosity in “Norcross seconds” time-of-fall. The Norcross LabPak Viscometer consists of all stainless steel wetted parts and open rod construction. Easy to clean, this unit works under atmospheric pressure, has a 3-way 24 VDC air valve, and requires 40 psi of dry air and 100/240 VAC.
