TREMCO: Firestop Sealant
Tremco Commercial Sealants & Waterproofing (CS&W) is introducing a new and improved formula for TREMstop® IA Intumescent Acrylic Firestop Sealant. TREMstop IA+ provides more coverage and requires less material for fire-rated applications. TREMstop IA+ is the only UL classified intumescent acrylic firestop sealant on the market that can be installed around a four-inch plastic pipe without requiring a collar, sleeve or backer rod. Just pump out the sealant and go. Because of its unique formula, applications require 20%(on average) less material than its competition, and when installed within concrete wall panels, only one-sided applications are necessary for it to meet specifications.
TREMstop IA+ is a high-performance, single-component, water-based, firestop sealant that will expand to fill the voids left when combustible materials burn and deteriorate in a fire. TREMstop IA + has undergone third-party testing from Underwriters Laboratory Inc. and Intertek Group, PLC to challenge its ability to perform under extreme conditions of water pressure and flames. TREMstop IA+ proved its effectiveness for treating 95%of the common applications found on a job-site, including metal pipe, plastic pipe, insulated pipe, cables, ducts and multiple penetrations.
