Scott Bader recently announced it has reached an agreement to acquire ATC Formulated Polymers Inc. ATC manufactures a range of bonding, tooling, fairing, compression molding, and other polyester- and vinylester-based pastes, supplied largely into the North America composites industry. This acquisition will reportedly make Scott Bader and ATC a global leader in the structural adhesives and bonding pastes business.
“I was attracted to Scott Bader because of their wide range of adhesives, their vision to grow this market on a worldwide basis, and their employee-owned company structure,” said Tom Johannsen, ATC’s majority owner. “With access to Scott Bader’s products and technology, we will be able to extend our current range of bonding pastes and adhesives, now including Scott Bader’s urethane acrylate Crestomer and MMA adhesives, to suit individual customer needs.”
