TA Instruments To Purchase Rheology Division of Rheometric Scientific

NEW CASTLE, Del. -- TA Instruments announced that it intends to purchase the assets of the Rheology Division of Rheometric Scientific, Inc., Piscataway, N.J. The sale is expected to be complete in December pending SEC and Rheometric Scientific stockholder approval. The name of the combined company will remain TA Instruments.

Rheometric Scientific is a worldwide supplier of rheometers that are used to measure a wide range of fluid properties such as viscosity and viscoelasticity. TA Instruments is a leading worldwide supplier of both thermal analysis systems and rheometers.

The Rheometric Scientific Piscataway, N.J., facility will ultimately close, with all manufacturing relocated to New Castle, Del. All sales, service and support operations will be consolidated into a single, worldwide organization.
