STAINES, United Kingdom — Elementis plc has completed the acquisition of the chromium chemicals business of U.S.-based Occidental Chemical Corp., OxyChem.

The former OxyChem operation at Castle Hayne, N.C., now becomes Elementis Chromium’s primary U.S. operation producing dichromate and chromic acid to serve the North American market.
