Global specialty chemicals manufacturer Sartomer Co. has announced the availability of a 3-page technical bulletin that provides chemists and operations personnel with critical procedures for the safe heating of solid and viscous monomers and oligomers. Sartomer's monomers and oligomers are used as raw materials in a variety of ultraviolet and electron beam (UV/EB), peroxide, and two-part epoxy/amine products, including industrial coatings, adhesives, sealants, inks, elastomers, composites, and more. Sartomer developed the bulletin, titled "Guidelines for Heating Sartomer's Viscous Monomers/Oligomers and Solids," to help prevent the inadvertent overheating of solid and viscous monomers and oligomers, which may affect product quality and even lead to unintended polymerization before or during processing.
