MACtac^® Performance Adhesive Group recently announced it has expanded its BS 5609:1986 certifications for chemical container labeling with new Section 2 and Section 3 approvals to print with three ink suppliers: iimak, Armor SAS and ITW Thermal Films.

“We want to get ahead of the new GHS mandate for chemical labels by continuing to provide our customers with a portfolio of solutions that can confidently meet recognized standards for durability and environmental resistance,” said Kim Hensley, product manager. “Through a joint effort, it’s easy to address the requirements of BS 5609 knowing the full solution, including the label base material, pressure-sensitive adhesive and thermal printing, all together pass the standard.”

New approvals with iimak certify MACtac BDE6914 2.6-mil UV polypropylene and MACtac FCD6914 2-mil white polyester with iimak inks, including Black SP330, Black SP575, Ruby Red DC300, Green DC300, Bright Blue DC300 and Yellow DC305. In addition, MACtac FCD6914 2-mil white polyester labels are certified to be printed with Armor SAS inks, including Black Resin AXR 7+, AXR 8, AXR 600 and Red Resin AXR 600R.

MACtac VDG6911 3.4-mil matte white vinyl is now certified with ITW Thermal Films B120 red wax/resin ribbon.
