Sartomer, a business line of Arkema, recently announced that it is celebrating a new “double zero” safety record, achieved at its combined plants, R&D centers, and headquarters around the world. On February 28, 2020, Sartomer accomplished one full year with zero safety incidents in two categories: no recordable injuries and no major process safety events. Sartomer reports that it attained this accomplishment because of a strong commitment to its continuous improvement program as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) business model.

“We take the responsible management of our activities very seriously,” said Douglas Sharp, global president, Sartomer. “As a specialty chemical developer and manufacturer, our top priorities are the safety of our people and processes, community health and reducing our environmental footprint.”

According to Justin Lanyon, global director, Manufacturing, “We are extremely grateful to our teams for their dedication to a culture of workplace safety. Their commitment has allowed us to reach the highest level of safety in our industry—a standard that is important not only to our team members, but to our customers and partners around the world.”
